About 

Gene’s journey into design began when he moved from Taiwan to the UK at the age of 13. After completing his A-Levels, Gene pursued a passion for the arts by studying at Central Saint Martins college and later at Chelsea College of Arts, part of the University of the Arts London (UAL). It was during this time that Gene discovered a deep interest in interior and architectural design. 

 Following graduation, Gene gained valuable experience working for several well-regarded architectural firms in the UK. These early years helped refine his design skills and provided a solid foundation in the industry. 

After some time, Gene returned to Asia, where he worked with leading design firms in Taiwan, taking on high-profile projects and expanding his expertise. He also had the opportunity to work on projects in China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, further enriching his perspective on international design. 

In 2017, Gene established his own work studio, IHID. Drawing on the connections he’d built over time, IHID allowed him to work closely with clients and manage all aspects of the design process, from concept to completion, including coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
